Frequently asked questions

What exactly is Noom Med and how does it work?

Noom Med combines prescription weight-loss medication with Noom’s psychology-based approach to behavior change.

Licensed clinicians decide whether medication is right for you and manage it over time, while the Noom app and coaching help you build habits that keep the weight off.

What weight loss medications does Noom Med offer?

When clinically appropriate, Noom Med clinicians can prescribe GLP-1 medications such as Wegovy®, Zepbound® and Ozempic®, as well as oral options like metformin or the Wegovy® pill. Every prescription starts with a clinical evaluation.

How much does weight loss medication cost with Noom?

It depends on your plan and medication. The Noom Microdose GLP-1Rx Program starts at $79, with or without insurance. Plans for brand-name medications like Ozempic® and Zepbound® start at $39, plus whatever the medication costs you under your coverage.

Every plan includes full access to the Noom app, with psychology-based lessons, tracking tools and support.

Do I need insurance to get weight-loss medications from Noom?

No. Noom Med works with or without insurance. If you’re covered, Noom helps you get the most from your plan for medication and clinician visits; if you’re not, cash-pay options still give you access to clinicians and medication.

How much weight can I expect to lose with Noom Med?

Results depend on your medication, your health history and how consistently you follow the program. On average, Noom Med members lose 48% more weight in six months than people taking GLP-1 medications without Noom.‡

How do I get started with Noom Med?

Take a short online health assessment about your goals and medical history, then meet a clinician who’ll decide whether medication is right for you.

If you’re prescribed one, it’s sent to your pharmacy or shipped to your door — and the Noom app gives you tools, coaching and ongoing support along the way.

1 Based on an independent third party survey of 251 primary care physicians who currently prescribe GLP-1 medications

† Based on retrospective study of self-reported data of active versus passive users who were offered the Noom program when being prescribed an early GLP-1.

‡ Following clinical trial information is for branded medications only: In a 68- and 72-week clinical trial studying Wegovy (2.4 mg) and Zepbound (15 mg) in patients without diabetes and with BMI >= 30, or BMI >= 27 with a weight-related condition, the average weight loss was 15% and 20%, when paired with diet and exercise changes (compared to 2.4% and 3.1%, respectively, with diet and exercise alone). The FDA does not review any compounded medication for safety or efficacy.
